Dear Colleagues,

We hope you all have made a healthy start of 2021 as we are living in difficult times globally. In our capacity of experts of workplace psychology, we want to contribute to meaningful actions to alleviate suffering imposed on our societies by the crisis. Making a fresh start, we have a series of interesting sessions enabling all to (re)engage and feel the FoWOP energy.

FoWOP seminars

Unfortunately, we were unable to hold the FoWOP Small Group Meeting in Brussels. The physical meeting is postponed to autumn of 2021. In the meantime, we will continue the successful seminar series and continue to meet online.

We are excited to invite you to the first FoWOP seminar:

18th of February, 3:30 - 5:30 pm (CET): Including behavior

This webinar will be organized in a workshop-style, where participants will be invited to think about and develop ideas on how to be including in their everyday behavior. In addition, we will reflect on how we, as FoWOP, can make sure that we organize ourselves and act in an including way?

Hans van Dijk, Assistant Professor at Tilburg University, and Carolin Ossenkop, Lecturer at Radboud University Nijmegen, will let you experience parts of their “Including Behavior Training”, followed by a discussion on including and excluding behavior. They designed this training to help organizations understand what inclusion really means and how to “do” inclusion. In offering this training to you, we hope that it will help you to champion inclusion in your workplace, and help us as a movement to reflect on how we can be more including. We, therefore, hope that many of you will join us for this session.

The session will be held via Zoom and is free of charge. As we need to prepare the session, we would like to ask you to register for the session by providing us with your email address using this link (https://fmru.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cG4R5ieNTt40XWt) by the 15th of February the latest. You will receive the link for the session and additional information and material you will need to take part in the training on the day of the session itself. There is no preparation required from your side to actively take part in the training.

Future seminars:

12th March 2021, 4-5pm: Critical research in Work and Org. Psychology

22nd of April, 4-5pm: Substantive and methodological synergies in Work and Org. Psychology

12th May, 4-5pm: Health in academia

3rd June, 4-5pm: Inequalities in academia

Carolin Ossenkop is the coordinator of the seminar sessions, so do contact her with your seminar idea (c.ossenkop@fm.ru.nl).

FoWOP transition team meetings

Monday 8th of February, 4-5 pm

Wednesday 31st March 9-10 am

Friday 30th of April 2-3 pm

Over the past months, a series of meetings were organised to further develop our movement. We started out with identifying tasks we are carrying out and that we feel are urgent. We further thought about how to organise without making this all too bureaucratic. We would like to have these meetings open to all who are interested. Below are the meetings we have planned. If you would like to join please get in touch with me (y.vanrossenberg@fm.ru.nl).
